#  Farah Assiraj

Farah Assiraj is Doctor of Educational Leadership student at Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and CEO of cairEDucation Consulting. She previously served as Chief of Teaching and Learning for the Council of the Great City Schools, supporting academic, equity, and SEL leaders across 78 major urban districts serving 7.8 million students. She led the Council’s Black and Latina Girls Taskforce, co-led the Achievement and Professional Development Taskforce, and supported the English Learners Taskforce. Prior to that position, Farah served as Deputy Chief Academic Officer in Boston Public Schools, Upper School Principal at the Boston Renaissance School, Director of Organizing with the Boston Teachers Union, and teaching roles in K12 private, charter, and public schools. Farah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the Student of the Year Award in Sociology. She holds a master’s degree in Teaching ESL from Simmons University. She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching, where she researched the usage of mother tongue languages as a medium of instruction in formal education.
