Jaein Lee is a lecturer on education at HGSE and the faculty lead for the Chen Yidan Visiting Global Fellows Program. Her research interests focus on institutional practices and support for first-generation low-income immigrants and students of color, with a special focus on undocumented immigrant students. Her recent study explored how undocumented immigrant students demonstrate their agency using non-dominant values and practices while navigating a predominantly white university. As a Data Wise coach, she provides teacher training on how to use data collaboratively to bring equity to instruction and practices in schools, nationally and internationally. Previously, she worked as a research analyst at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, providing site-based research and technical support to school districts in projects related to college readiness and access, family and community engagement, and English Language Learners.

Lee holds a Ph.D. in Education from Harvard University, an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from Bowdoin College.
