Katie Skalka

Katie SkalkaKatie Skalka began her career in education as an outdoor educator focusing on science, natural history, and team development. As an outdoor educator Katie worked with a variety of student populations and age ranges, specializing in students with disabilities and struggling teens. Her passion for developing strong social skills in youth and cultivating caring and engaging classrooms led her to Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School (BArT Charter) as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment. From there Katie went back into the classroom as a math and science teacher as well as summer programs director at Salisbury Academy in NC. Katie recently moved to NYC and is working as a consultant with Koru Strategy Group. She holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy and Education from Duke University and an MS in Outdoor Education from University of New Hampshire.
