Alicia Borofsky has been working for Hartford Public Schools for 17 years. Her journey started as a classroom teacher in a neighborhood school in the city’s north end. After 12 years in the classroom she sought to impact student achievement on a larger scale outside of her classroom. For three years she worked as a school based Instructional Coach. In this capacity she worked closely with the school leadership team and engaged teachers in coaching cycles. In 2018, Alicia took on a new role as a district-wide Literacy Instructional Coach. Her team, focuses on the implementation of the guided reading initiative for the district, closely analyzing both student data and teacher implementation data to plan professional learning opportunities that increase teacher capacity and student achievement.
