Edith Johnson is the Director of Professional Learning Leadership Development at New Haven Public Schools in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Her began her career as a middle school language arts and TESOL teacher for New York City Department of Education. After receiving her Master’s degree at Lehman College, she moved to Maryland where she became a high school English teacher, lead teacher and cheerleading coach in Montgomery County Public Schools. This is where her interest in administration was nurtured. She transitioned to a high school assistant principal in 2008 and successfully lead the 9th grade Academy and worked with a team to move her school toward success. In 2011, Edith moved to Connecticut where she has spent the last 14 years as a school and district administrator for New Haven Public Schools. Edith is committed to ensure equity for all students and working toward building a strong pipeline of future educators and administrators.
