Katherine Leonard is the Executive Director of Literacy and English Language Arts in Hartford, Ct. She has worked for Hartford Public Schools for 17 years. In her previous role as the principal of Breakthrough Magnet School-North, she worked diligently with her instructional team to ensure that the Data Wise continuous improvement process permeated the Breakthrough North community. She engaged in two Data Wise Institutes over the past three years. In 2020, Katie joined a cohort of passionate and talented educators from Hartford in the Data Wise Coaching Candidate program. The Coaching Candidate program provided her the opportunity to support other schools in Hartford to also engage in the Data Wise process. In her new role as Executive Director, she is looking forward to continuing this work with all Hartford Public Schools. She completed her 093 Superintendent Certification at the University of Connecticut in August, 2020 where she is also currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education.
