Kevin Smaldone
I have spent the bulk of my career as a classroom teacher in second and third grade. After leaving the classroom I worked as an instructional coach supporting teachers and students PreK-2 in a variety of capacities. I currently work as an assistant principal in a 3-5 school, where I continue to support teachers and students. I have BA's in American Studies and Elementary Education, a MAT in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and an Ed.D in Leadership in Schooling. My research centered around STEM education, with a focus on creating inclusive environments and reinforcing pathways for historically underrepresented populations. I was introduced to collaborative inquiry and the DataWise process through my doctoral work and am looking to develop and strengthen these practices within my building and district.
