Lilliana Vendra

Lilliana VendraLilliana Vendra is the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Mathematics and the Supervisor of the Math & Science Institute at New Dorp High School in Staten Island, NY. Previous to joining New Dorp High School, Lilliana was the Director of Renewal High Schools at the New York City Department of Education, where her work focused on bridging the implementation gap of the various Renewal initiatives aimed at improving schools. Prior to that, she was a high school math teacher for over 8 years. Lilliana completed an alternative path to education through New York City's Teaching Fellows Program, which allowed her to teach while completing her master's degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics at Pace University. She taught in three high schools in Brooklyn and Staten Island before deciding to go back for a postgraduate certificate in Educational Leadership through The College of St. Rose. Having attended four high schools in three different states, Lilliana is passionate about bringing equity and opportunity to all students regardless of geography.
