Mary Dillman

marydillmanMary Dillman is the Chief of Staff for the Boston Public Schools. Previously, Mary served as the BPS Executive Director of Data and Accountability, leading district-wide implementation related to analytics, assessment, collaborative inquiry, performance management, and research. Mary first learned of the Data Wise Improvement Process in January 2013 when she attended a J-Term class. Little did she realize how much this framework would impact her professionally as she went on to found the BPS Data Inquiry Team, which builds the capacity of teacher teams across Boston to improve their practice and accelerate student learning through the implementation of data-driven cycles of inquiry. Earlier in her career Mary taught high school English and English Language Development and coached Turnaround and Transformation leaders. Mary holds a B.A. in Policy Studies and Sociology from Rice University and a master’s degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.
