Melissa McGuire

Melissa McGuireDr. Melissa Glee McGuire is currently an Associate Superintendent in Prince George's County Public Schools. She is responsible for 70 early childhood centers, elementary, middle, and high schools.  Under her leadership she supervises 5 Instructional Directors (Principal Supervisors), performance specialist, athletics departments and special projects office. She has been featured by HarvardX for her Central Office work with the Data Wise School Improvement Process. In addition, she serves as the Central Office Liaison for the district's Wallace Foundation grant. She is a Gallup Strengthsfinder Certified Coach and Arbinger Facilitator/Trainer. Dr. McGuire received her doctorate from the University of Maryland, College Park in Educational Leadership and Policy. She has completed research on the Perceptions of the Preparation of Effective  Middle School Principals. She has received The Washington Post Vincent E. Reed Leadership Award, NAESP Transformational Leader Award, and Voice of Change Award. She has presented at numerous national conferences on the topics of middle level education, principal leadership and school/district culture. Dr. McGuire holds a degree in elementary education from Howard University and a masters degree in school guidance and counseling from the University of Maryland, College Park.
