Phoebe Grant-Robinson

Phoebe Grant-Robinson is the Chief Community Champion and founder of Dream Between the Lines, Inc.  Phoebe is currently a second year, Ed.L.D. doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Phoebe serves on the Harvard Educational Review Editorial Board, Harvard’s scholarly interdisciplinary journal. Phoebe started her career teaching elementary at the very she attended in Brooklyn, New York. A believer in the possibilities encapsulated in every student, Phoebe became a Special Education Instructional Specialist. Charged with leading the implementation of the Special Education Reform, she supported more than thirty school leaders in deepening understanding, increasing compliance, and creating a welcoming environment for all, ensuring that every student has undeniable access to learning in their community school.  Glaring inequities and overrepresentation of students of color in special education settings would compel her to become principal of an elementary school she spearheaded the renaming of: The Randolph Holder School for Social Justice. Impassioned to impact American preK-12 education, she is committed to spotlighting the grave inequities and leveraging family engagement as a strategy to build and sustain an equitable system that nurtures the academic and social-emotional well-being of all students, particularly those at the intersection of housing insecurity and literacy proficiency, positioning them as ‘drivers of their destiny.’
